Patiowell Iron Weight Base for Market Umbrella

Excellent product! Works as advertised, easy set up, no complications, no complaints. Unforseen thunderstorms snapped the tilt portion of the frame and broke the cable that raises and lowers the umbrella. No fault of the manufacturer. Bought a second one to replace the weather damaged one. Well built overall, just not sturdy in 50 mph gusts.

I ordered this as a gift for my 80+ year old dad who struggled to open a traditional patio umbrella but wanted to sit outside in the shade. He LOVES this umbrella. It works perfectly and he also likes that it has multiple ways to open.

My dad resides in an assisted living facility and he’s a smoker. I got this motorized umbrella for him since the hand crank ones can be difficult to open and close. He loves it because he doesn’t have to worry about getting wet when it rains and when it’s sunny, it protects him for the harsh rays and heat! The battery is still going on the same charge for almost a month now! Money well spent!!

The world of self opening/closing umbrellas is a small one - there are few choices out there for folks to explore options from. Given that, this umbrella is a standout, with good build quality, nice colors to choose from, and the handy option of it being able to tilt manually.

After 6 months of flawless enjoyment of this umbrella, one of the 2 lift cables snapped out of its housing, thus rendering it inoperative. It happened upon opening the umbrella, and the other lift cable was more than adequate to keep it opened, it never came 'crashing down' nor ever put anyone in harm's way. I was easily able to coax it back down to a closed position and contacted sales/service about the issue, and included pics of the problem. After a couple of emails back and forth, the company sent out a brand new replacement - all within a week!

This company stands behind this product, and I'm very pleased and happy with the outcome - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this umbrella to others.

It looks good although the set screw was somewhat difficult to turn to tighten on the umbrella without a pair of pliers. There are four holes in the corners of the base presumably to fasten it with screws. The inside of the holes have rusted slightly within a month.
